The over 60-acre Parsons Cider Mill Park provides a peaceful setting for easy walks along old cart paths and short trail loops around two ponds. The Parson family were abolitionists and their home was part of the Underground Railroad. The neighborhood to the east was once an apple orchard that supplied the apple presses for their cider mill where the water press for producing cider was among the largest of its kind. Foundation remains of the old mill are located along Apricot Street nearby the brook and retaining pond. |
